As a choreographer, José Limón was full of emotion: Sterile formalism was never his thing. For Limón, the artist’s function was “to be the voice and conscience of his time.” Limón wrote those words in 1965, but his humanist approach lives on in @limondance, which is presenting its first performances under the artistic direction of Colin Connor, a former Limón dancer. @limondance is performing vintage Limón dances alongside 2 contemporary works through Sunday at @thejoycetheater.
