@sothebysfr will hold it's first Impressionist and Modern Art #auction of the year today in #Paris. Kees Van Dongen’s vibrant work 'Femme au Chapeau' (1907-8) demonstrates the sensual handling of paint characteristic of his #fauvist period, and also reveals the close friendship between the #painter and Charles Malpel, a lawyer from #Montauban who was a fervent supporter of Van Dongen at the beginning of his career.
