On the morning of May 9, 2014, officers with the Killeen, Texas SWAT team stormed into Marvin Louis Guy’s apartment to perform a no-knock raid after an informant said he was dealing cocaine. No-knock warrants authorize SWAT officers to enter a home without warning. Time and again, the raids have led to avoidable deaths, gruesome injuries and costly legal settlements. Marvin, 49, insists that he thought he was being robbed when he grabbed one of his guns, he told @ニューヨーク・タイムズ. The raid led to the death of Detective Charles Dinwiddie, the SWAT leader. Today, Marvin is being held at The Bell County Jail Complex. The grand jury indicted him on counts of capital murder and attempted capital murder. 4 months later, the district attorney announced that he would seek the death penalty. The photographer @george_etheredge captured sunlight reflecting off the window of Marvin’s apartment.
