the easiest of weekend meals, a beautifully rich pumpkin, ginger and apple soup swirled with a touch of creme fraiche and lots of chopped toasted hazelnuts - I have always been a collectors of recipes and this soup is from the @yankeemagazine archives from at least a decade ago - little scraps of paper clipped and slid in to notebooks carefully folded and tucked away for those times I find myself needing inspiration - I've quite a collection to date and there's no sign of this habit falling off - this is one of those soups that's better a few days later but we are still making a meal of it using my favorite @mauvielusa copper pot - reheating on the stove top and placing it as the pretty centerpiece on the table dressed in layers of linen, cream, silver & candlelight
