Welcomed Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his first visit to Singapore today. We had met last April in Israel, so I was happy to reciprocate his warm hospitality.

Singapore and Israel are old friends. When we became independent, the IDF helped us build and train the SAF. Today, our ties extend to investments, technology and R&D, and we are planning further collaboration with each other.
PM Netanyahu updated me on developments in the Middle East. Singapore supports a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian problem. It is the only way to bring lasting peace and security, difficult though this may be to achieve. – LHL (MCI Photo by Chwee)
