Girls waited their turn to dance at an annual festival called Harisa in Musaler, #Armenia. @arpi.khachaturyanc, who took this photo, has been working with @Bridging.Stories, a program training young Turks and Armenians to photograph their daily life and share their images on Instagram. The goal: to help further understanding between their people. The program was started by @ジョン・スタンメイヤー — who recently worked on a @ナショナルジオグラフィック story about the history of the Armenian genocide — and @anushbabajanyan, an Armenian photographer, with help from @serraakcan, a Turkish photographer. #BridgingStories recruited 2 dozen Armenians and Turks between the ages of 18 and 23 for a weeklong training session and discussions. “When we’re talking about the long-lasting aftermath of a conflict,” @serraakcan told the @ニューヨーク・タイムズ #lensblog, “these kind of projects are very important because they connect us to what is most human.” Visit the link in our profile and follow @Bridging.Stories to see more.
