@sashafoto captured the @nycballet #dancers Russell Janzen and Rebecca Krohn rehearsing for “The Shimmering Asphalt,” a piece by the choreographer Pontus Lidberg that is set to premiere later this month in New York. Pontus, who was born in Sweden, said he didn’t think of himself as either a ballet or a contemporary choreographer. “There are classical ballet lines and steps that are there,” he said. “But the movement essentially comes from seeing how the dancers responded to what I was making.” Visit the link in our profile to read more.
