“You may come to Antarctica for the animals but you will come back for the ice.”
That is what @eric_guth told me when I boarded the Natgeo/Lindblad Explorer in Ushuia last month. Eric is a photographer, naturalist and guide. He also has a deep fascination with ice. He’s right. The animals, the whales, penguins, seals and albatrosses are all wonderful but it is the ice that stalks my memory. In Antarctica I saw colors and a pallet I have never seen before. If I’m lucky enough to return it will be for the ice.
