‘Accordance No.1’ by Grisha Bruskin. Bruskin’s success at the seminal 1988 Sotheby’s sale in #Moscow propelled him to stardom; today he is considered to be one of the leading contemporary artists of Russian origin. Shown at two personal exhibitions shut down by Soviet state officials in the early 1980s, this early and important work incorporates the symbolism of #Judaism, the recurrent motifs in Bruskin’s work.
