Well, the choices you make regarding your daily routine either build up resistance to disease or tear it down. Disease states occur when the body is acidic. Although lemons are acidic on their own they are actually one of the most alkalizing foods when they enter our bodies. If you learn nothing from my page at least leave with this newfound habit. If you're a client of mine you know how religious I am about this. Lemon water preps digestion for the rest of the day. First thing in the morning drink yourself a cup of alkaline water. How do you make it? Simple. 8oz of filtered water, 1/2 a FRESH squeezed organic lemon and BAM! Done. Aside from being the richest source of minerals and vitamins in any food, they're available year round! Coincidence? I think not! Lemons mimic the digestive juices found in your stomach which cause the liver to produce bile and thus keeps food moving smoothly through your body and helps you absorb the nutrients from foods more slowly. In short, slower absorption = stable insulin levels = better nutrient absorption = less bloat. As soon as you wake up, before breakfast, before coffee, before anything...drink the dang lemon water! I usually warm up a cup and add a green tea bag and some cayenne pepper as cayenne helps breaks up mucus. (I'll have another post on that later!). #lemonwater #alkaline #lemonscureall
