Day three of the exhibition hang for Bowie/Collector which includes John Bellany R.A.'s triptych 'Valhalla' The title of the present is a direct reference to death; in Nordic mythology Valhalla is where fallen warriors spent the afterlife. Bellany’s oeuvre is imbued throughout with a sense of mythology and visual symbolism and Alan Davie, an artist true to his Celtic roots, described Bellany as ‘a painter of Nordic mystical power’

Bowie collected a number of works by Bellany, visiting the artist's hometown of Port Seaton on a number of occasions to better understand the artist's inspiration.

#Bowie/Collector opens at noon this Tuesday 1st November at our London galleries and runs until noon on Thursday 10th November.
