Satellites ~ Under the canopy of the Milky Way, dear friend and @ナショナルジオグラフィック Fellow, Paul Salopek, waits for water to boil to make coffee before spending the night in the Kyzylkum Desert, Uzbekistan.

It's been two weeks since walking through the most difficult part of @outofedenwalk with friend and National Geographic colleague, Paul Salopek. Walked for five days with Paul across more than 130 kilometers (80 miles) of the 16th largest desert in earth, the Kyzylkum Desert. Hot and at times exhaustive, the act of walking in near solitude, moments of loneliness and difficulty, became meditative, one of the most enriching moments so far of the last 3+ years of the entire Out of Eden Walk project (our 11th country).

Each night, the sky displayed its majesty. A reminder of how insignificant we are within the grandness of space, the beauty that is all around us.
