Norm Devio is 75 years old. At 5’7” and 155 pounds, he doesn’t look like the godfather of arm-wrestling. But the former gymnast has dominated the sport for much of the past 40 years. Challenge Norm and he will (almost certainly) demolish you. On the table, he transcends his age, defeating opponents twice his size and 50 years younger. He’s said to have won more than 25 national #armwrestling titles — with his right arm and his left arm, while sitting down and standing up. Plenty of great arm wrestlers, known as pullers, have dominated the sport over the years, but what sets Norm apart is his longevity. To maintain his competitive edge, he follows a strict routine that includes daily aerobic exercise combined with weekly weight lifting. “So many people, as they get older, they just think they can’t do as much as they used to do, and that’s just not true,” he said. In April, the photographer @glanzpiece took this picture of Norm showing other arm wrestlers the correct way to lock up hands.
