This fall, the actress Ruth Negga is starring in what she describes as “the greatest love story never told.” The 33-year-old veteran of the British stage and screen plays Mildred Loving in “Loving,” director Jeff Nichols’s new film that details how a couple defeated Virginia’s laws against interracial marriage in 1967. “Mildred is this quite shy, reserved, soft-spoken mixed-race woman from a really tiny town,” said Ruth, who was born in Addis Ababa to an Ethiopian father and an Irish mother. “That she was the one who persevered, and was tenacious, with no other resources?
