Mid way to taper week and I still need aaaallll the caffeine?? giving myself deliberate rest is imperative for my recovery. Typically after 4 weeks, I delve into a "taper" which consists of practicing the same movement patterns, while lowering the intensity and loads of the lift. I work with lower RPE's (rated perceived exertion) and concentrate most on activating my muscles and focusing on emphasizing the contraction and eccentric part of each movement. This is the week you'll see me favouring paused reps, resistant bands, and a whole lot of mobility.
