When you're a single parent you get used to multitasking, I reckon I could stack another baby on my other hip and a rucksack on my back with a few milk bottles around my neck. There's no such thing as 'can't' if there's something you can't do right here and right now then work at it and pretty soon you'll drop that 't' and realise how capable you actually are. My daughter will be 9yrs old in a few weeks and she's super scared of heights, it took me an hour of talking to her about all of the things that could go wrong when sitting on my shoulders, if I tripped, if she fell backwards, if I did a cartwheel and let go for her to even agree to sit on my shoulders on the sofa let alone standing up! I understand how horrible fears and self doubt are because it ruled my entire life up until I took control of myself aged 25 and understood that I could be bigger and better than my fears. She told me she couldn't get on my shoulders because she was scared of falling, but with patience and encouragement she got on my shoulders, sat upright, took one hand off my head and I picked up my son too for this snap. Slow steps build strong foundations, it's ok to be scared but it's totally incredible to overcome your fears because the freedom it brings is immeasurable. This is a very proud mummy moment for me right here! Planting the seed of self belief is a wonderful thing.
