"Ever since I was a little fella, it's been a fascination," Rick Tyre told @scottymacphoto, speaking about the Everglades, in Florida. For the past 5 years, Rick has been a captain with Coopertown Airboats, one of 4 commercial airboat concessions inside #Everglades National Park. It’s is easy to see what airboaters, like Rick, love about @evergladesnps. The canopy of pink, red and orange as the sun sets beyond the grass. The bass fishing trips with buddies in isolated hammocks that once housed hunting camps. The trumpet blast of the bullfrogs. But this year, the use of airboats in the national park will begin to be phased out. Regulators say the boats can destroy the saw grass prairies and disturb wildlife with their ear-piercing noise. @scottymacphoto took this portrait of Rick near the Coopertown Airboats docks.
