@christopherandersonphoto captured workers at the ‘‘top of the house’’ — the current pinnacle of construction — at 3 World Trade Center. Projected to stand 1,079 feet tall upon completion, 3 World Trade is New York’s first downtown skyscraper to be erected “core first,” meaning that the building’s concrete core — housing elevators, stairs and mechanical and plumbing systems — goes up before the exterior steel frame. This week, @nytmag is exploring buildings in New York City that boast roof heights above 800 feet. What is life like on the top floors of the 21 skyscrapers in Manhattan that reach such great heights? We’ll be sharing more photos by @christopherandersonphoto of @Magnum Photos this #nytweekender. #newyorkabove800feet
