Taking photos from great heights is nothing for an adventure photographer and climber like @jimmy_chin. But before his latest #nytassignment, he'd never had to do it while scaling a skyscraper. “There you are on the top of this needle, above 8 million — 10 million people,” he says in @nytmag’s new VR film, in which he scales @oneworldtrade. “You get that very visceral experience of feeling insignificant. It was really just beautiful and almost lonely. I think that’s what makes it special.” For this week's @nytmag cover photo, which appears here, @jimmy_chin photographed Jamison Walsh, a safety liaison who inspects the building's spire, which reaches 1,776 feet in the air. There they hung, harnessed King Kongs, dangling off the building. To see for yourself what New York looks like from the top of @oneworldtrade, visit the link in our profile and download our new VR film. (People usually say "don't look down,” but this time you should. Seriously.) #newyorkabove800feet
