In the ballet world, pregnancy is no longer something a dancer has to hide. But one thing hasn’t changed, and that’s how hard is it for a new mother to head back to the stage. Beginning in early February, a @ニューヨーク・タイムズ reporter followed @realmkowroski, a principal dancer with the @nycballet whose first son was born in November. “After I gave birth, I did nothing for 6 weeks and I literally felt like mush,” the #balletdancer said. “I’ve never felt my legs like that before.” The @ニューヨーク・タイムズ photographer @bengiville captured @realmkowroski with dancer Amar Ramasar during her comeback performance on May 10, in George Balanchine’s “Vienna Waltzes.” @realmkowroski is still working up the confidence to dance her first ballet on point. “I do feel like a different person,” she said. “I am a different person. I’m a mom.” Follow @bengiville to see more photos.
