Welcome to the new Old West. @pioneertownmotel is a dusty, single-story inn with 20 rooms in a remote community in the Southern California desert. The boulders, the sand and the Joshua trees make the landscape in the area look otherworldly alongside a replicated 19th-century western town, which includes a saloon and a trading post. Founded in 1946 by a group of Hollywood types who were tired of traveling far away to film westerns, #Pioneertown is having something of a renaissance, thanks to an influx of artists and entrepreneurs. The unincorporated community is so small that if you address parcels with someone’s first name, they’ll arrive at the right place.
