@kenenisabekele is considered one of the greatest distance runners in history. And yet even the 3-time Olympic champion isn’t sure that a human can finish marathon in less than 2 hours. “I can’t say it’s possible,” @kenenisabekele said. “For me it’s impossible, maybe. You never know. Maybe in 10 years’ time there is a different thing. Maybe somebody creates a new technology.” That’s where physiologist Yannis Pitsiladis comes in. His Sub2 Project, as it’s called, is an attempt at the extraordinary — a quest to propel a marathoner past the 2-hour barrier.
