Photo by Michael George @migeophoto // Gloria Barr Ford is another Gullah Interpreter at "da Gullah Theater" located at Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Through stories and song she explores Gullah culture with her audience. During her performance on the day I visited, Gloria sang the songs the Gullah people wrote while learning about Christianity. Gullah and Geechee are terms used for the people that were and are the descendants of the West African slaves in the southeastern United States.
