Look closely, there is a deer there! Of all the images that I make it is these kind of images, where the animal is shown as part of its environment, that appeal to me the most. In this image a red deer, very similar to the North American elk, is seeking shelter from a ferocious blizzard that has covered everything in snow, the deer included, in a matter of minutes. I was working with the ever flexible Nikon 200-400mm lens so I was able to zoom right out and show the deer as a part of the pine forest in which it was seeking shelter.
