Oversized statues of Kelpies — creatures of Celtic folklore — watching over boaters entering a canal in Falkirk, on the east coast of #Scotland. The horses, public artworks, are symbols of the region’s industrial past and its present-day reinvention. “It depends who you speak to about them, but they used to be known to drag people into the water and kill them,” said the photographer @kierandodds, who took this photo. @kierandodds, who is based in Glasgow, has been trying to answer a significant question: What does it mean to be Scottish?
