A boy plays in a bubble at the Khan Shatyr Beach in Astana, Kazakhstan, where the sand is imported from the Maldives. The beach is the top floor of the Khan Shatyr Mall, which opened in July 2010. The beach is kept a consistent temperature, a modern oasis on the Central Asian steppe.
