An ensemble of sunken palm trees I photographed in 2003 suggest that the Salton Sea has seen better days. A fluctuation in sea level and increased salinity have since led to an environmental decay that is now nearing catastrophic dimensions. I've photographed the Salton Sea many times and see many of the changes that have taken place over the past years. Check back here tomorrow to see the same palm trees 7 years later, in 2010.
