T-minus ten days before heading out on this epic road trip to visit every U.S. National Park in one year and I just have to say that....pursuing your dreams isn't glamorous (at first). It's hard. Really hard. In fact, I would say these past 45 days have been some of the most difficult and emotional of my entire life. I've nearly broke under the pressure several times. I've cried when it seems like too much to do and overcome, been anxious when our fate is out of our hands, endured the doubters who think we are crazy, and felt incredibly unsure about giving up our safety and security of "normal" life. Inertia (the tendency to resist change and to stay on the path you are on) is such a powerful and limiting force . But if you can navigate through the obstacles and overcome your fears, there's almost no greater joy then following your dreams. You may not want to, or be able to, go as big as we are doing by quitting everything and going out on the road full time. But I encourage you to make a brave decision in some way, no matter how small. Take a risk, put yourself out there, and see what happens. I think you will find, as we have, that on the other side of fear and safety lies some of life's magical moments . Inertia be damned...live bravely! ///// Photographer Jonathan Irish (@jonathan_irish) is about to embark on an epic road trip to visit and create incredible content in the 59 U.S. National Parks in 52 weeks during the centennial of the National Park Service. He'll be sharing his images and stories along the way here, on his own Instagram feed, and on the link in his bio. #59in52
