Photo by @andywcoleman // The waters of Havasu Falls plunge 100 feet into the striking blue-green pools below. The cascading areas around the falls are formed when the calcium carbonate in the water deposits on the rocks. The water stays a pretty consistent 70 degrees all year round, which is quite refreshing when temperatures in the canyon soar in the summer. A limited number of people can visit Havasu Canyon at one time, so reservations are crucial. It is a 10 mile hike from the hilltop through the canyon to the campground near the falls, but you can also get there via a quick helicopter ride. Once you get to this oasis, make sure to leave enough time to explore the several other falls in the area.
