Ho Ching and I had lunch with President Xi Jinping and his wife, Madam Peng Liyuan, at #SingaporeBotanicGardens today. Singapore enjoys warm and substantial ties with China, and President Xi’s visit has further deepened the relationship.

The agreements we signed today will open up more opportunities for mutual exchange, trade, investments and development. These include a third Government-to-Government project in Chongqing, launching the upgrade of the China-Singapore FTA, and collaboration on education, urban management, as well as between our Customs.

China’s dramatic progress is positive for the region and the world. We are happy that Singapore provided the venue for President Xi’s meeting with President Ma Ying-jeou from Taiwan. We will continue to build on what we've achieved since we established diplomatic relations 25 years ago, to take bilateral relations with China further forward. – LHL (MCI Photo by Terence Tan)
