This man. @krakauernotwriting has been a friend for the past 26 years. We've been on two expeditions to Antarctica, three climbs to Nepal and a snowboard journey to Denali.

This snapshot from January of 1997 is from the summit of the Troll's Castle, a granite spire in Queen Maud Land, Antarctica. He was so happy he bust out a small pennant that his wife Linda had sewn. Yeah for the summit.
