The writer Rabi’a Talle Maifata in the courtyard of her office at the Ministry of Information in #Kano, Nigeria. Rabi’a is one of a small but significant group of Muslim women in northern Nigeria writing #romance novels known as “littattafan soyayya,” which is Hausa for “love literature.” The photographer @glennagordon met with a number of them while working on the project that became “Diagram of the Heart,” a photo book she is supporting with an independent print sale. “I loved learning that our world is so much richer and more nuanced than I could have ever imagined before I went to see it,” she told the #lensblog.
