In musical canine freestyle, choreography is a team effort. The human chooses a song he or she can listen to again and again. But the dog must also enjoy the tune. The often-elaborate costumes — like the ones that Carrie and her dog, Lyric, of Salem, Connecticut, sported here — are just as important as the music and lyrics.
