Debra Davidson revealed a five-inch scar where surgeons entered for an open-heart surgery in 2011. Last year, Debra learned that her cardiologist, Dr. Arvind Gandhi, had been sued by two former patients who accused him of performing unnecessary operations. She is now one of 293 patients around Munster, Indiana, who have filed lawsuits against Dr. Gandhi and two other doctors in his practice. The three were the highest-paid heart doctors in Indiana in terms of Medicare reimbursements, records show. Debra has advice for friends and family with medical problems. “If they have a feeling that they don’t believe what the doctor is doing for them is for the best, don’t do what I did and depend on the doctor,” she said. “Get a second opinion.” Photo by @joshualott.
