What a spread! #BandWidowDinner #14 with friends was a great one. Served sliced sirloin filets, grilled corn with horseradish sauce (sour cream + a bit of unsweetened applesauce, freshly grated horseradish, chives, and salt & pepper), plus carrot and celery topped with salsa verde (plus capers, anchovies, lemon & EVOO). Also served grilled corn slathered with warm Boursin cheese, topped with shredded radishes and chives. Warning: it's habit-forming.
We had cucamelon bruschetta, too: Take halved cucamelons, and add fresh red chilies, mint, dill, red onion, white balsamic, lime, honey, EVOO, and salt. Serve with charred bread and soft cheese. Pucker up!

For dessert: black and blue galette. For the crust, you need 1 cup AP flour, ½ cup ground pecans, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, salt, a stick of diced cold butter, ¼ cup ice water. Chill it, then brush with buttermilk and add raw sugar to the edges. Fill the gallette with 3 pints of mixed black n’ blue berries, lemon, sugar, and cornstarch. Bake and eat! @thecringe #michigan
