Chinese artist Liu Bolin draws attention to important social issues in his photos ... by literally disappearing into the scene. His eye-catching art explores themes of consumerism, mass culture and national memory. Before each photo is taken, Liu needs to stand still for three to four hours as his assistant paints his skin and clothing to reflect the subject matter behind him. There is no Photoshop involved.
