This colorful device is a FotoKite: a flying camera tethered like a kite. Photographers can point it in the direction they want it to fly, and command it to soar higher up or descend with the push of a button. It’s a huge help for journalists in dangerous protests, or other big events that are hard to capture. The tether also reduces the creepiness factor we associate with drones—it is obvious who is controlling the device, and prevents the FotoKite from soaring out of control.
