A view from the #abandoned top floor of Hunts Point Library in the South Bronx. The #library, like others in #NewYorkCity, has been unable to meet the needs of its patrons because its aging building is in need of renovation. The top floor — which was built as a custodian’s living quarters — remains empty because there is no money to repurpose it. “When I go into an assignment, I feel like I just dropped out of the sky into someone else's world,” said @bengiville. “On this occasion, I felt a little like an urban archeologist, walking from room to room, where I spotted curious remnants and artifacts belonging to the last tenant placed just where they had been left.” #abandonedplaces
