Charlie Sifford passed away last night at the age of 92. He was a true pioneer in the world of sports. Most people didnt know him very well so let me tell you a little about him. Long before Tiger, there was Charlie Sifford. Charlie was the first black man to hold a PGA Tour card in 1961. He won 2 events on tour and 2more on the senior circuits. He was to the world of golf what Jackie Robinson was to baseball. He was the first black man inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2004. In 2014 he joined Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer as the only professional golfers to receive the presidential medal of freedom. I never had the honor of meeting Charlie but I thank him for all that he had to endure in his life. All he wanted to do was play golf. Where would I be if he let someone tell him he couldn't play the game he loved? Where would we all be? RIP Charlie #BHM
