Answer: We launched the @Guggenheim Instagram account in February 2013 on the occasion of Gutai: Spendid Playground, an exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum in New York with interactive elements that invited visitor participation onsite and online. The goal was to activate sharing of images generated by our visitors on Instagram. We also saw an opportunity to expand the reach of our images and digital assets to a rapidly growing online community of users who experience art on Instagram. ________________________________________Q: When posting a media, what is your Like/Comment threshold that makes it acceptable? A: Our engagement rates are always relative to the objective of the post. If we share a work of art from the collection then likes are monitored. However, if the post poses a question, we will track comments and responses. We are often surprised by the thoughtfulness of these comments, but never assign a minimum threshold per post because we value quality over quantity. ________________________________________Q: What strategies do you use to attract new Instagram followers and keep them engaged? A: To date, our growth on Instagram has been organic, with the exception of being featured as a Suggested User in October 2014.
