Photo by @ChrisBickford. The light in the Dolomites changes so quickly that what you see one minute will be gone the next. I took this shot from a moving car rounding a sharp curve heading down a mountain road. It had been overcast most of the day, and the break in cloud cover took us by surprise. By the time my friend and guide Diego Orlando had stopped the car so we could take a proper picture, the clouds had moved back in and the light on the carbonate peak was gone . Such is the enigma of the Dolomites, and the eternal joy and frustration of outdoor photography. #dolomites #italy #mountain #veneto @natgeocreative @National Geographic Travel
