I saw this amazing rock in the middle of La Leona waterfall in the Huilo-Huilo Bio Reserve in the Chilean Lakes District and simply could not take my eye off of it for the longest time. How did it come to rest in such an unusual place (in the middle of a two-tier waterfall)? How long has it rested there among the rushing waters? How long could it continue the onslaught of water that will eventually move it downstream, perhaps beneath the water, perhaps to the safety of the shore?
