I've photographed the confluence a lot in my career. But this is the first image I am truly happy with and I shot it on a smartphone. The amount technology has changed in the past 2 years is astounding. I think in another 2 years most people won't distinguish between a smartphone, camera and video camera. It will all converge.
That doesn’t mean that there will not be a need for photographers, just that what we now think of as photographer’s tools may be very different than what they are today.
