Inside these glowing orbs, a message to a Colombian guerrilla asks them to come home for Christmas. In Operation Rivers of Light, #TEDGlobal speaker Jose Miguel Sokoloff teamed up with the Colombian military in an impassioned plan to get the guerillas to demobilize. Locals near the conflict areas as well as the guerrilla’s friends and families wrote Christmas letters that were then sent down the river to where the guerrillas were camped out. In the end, this project helped bring 180 guerrillas home.
