At 10:55 a.m. we welcomed a special delivery from Canada – three new elephants! Kamala, Swarna and Maharani arrived safely from the Calgary Zoo with the expert traveling team of keepers and veterinarians. As of 4:30 p.m., the new elephants had settled into their new home. They will join the National Zoo’s herd of four Asian elephants after they have completed a 30 day quarantine. But you don’t have to wait that long to see them.
