If you are going to get a flat tire, no better place to occur than within the Valley of the Moon next to the mountain known as Seven Pillars of Wisdom in Wadi Rum, the same path T.E. Lawrence wandered through over 100 years ago and used as the title of his famous book. Via the deft hands of Zeek, we swiftly swapped over to the spar. By the way, this is the 4th tire lost during the Out of Eden project for National Geographic — two in Ethiopia last January and February, one in Saudi Arabia in September and now this one in Wadi Rum, Jordan. Clearly our ancestors who walked this route 40,000-60,000 years ago only grew thicker soles on the feet.
