This is another of Wat’s intriguing images made by collaborating with his brother. He framed the photo with a tripod and asked his brother to click the shutter. He is one of twelve HIV-participants in Through Positive Eyes – Bangkok: “Most Thai people go to the temple to ask for a blessing from the Buddha image. Instead I wash my mother’s feet, because she is like God to me. She is the most important person in my life. When I was diagnosed HIV-positive, the doctors said I wouldn’t live long. But my mom said, ‘No mother raises her child to die.’ She wouldn’t let me. Since then, I believe that my mother is sacred.” This is part of the daily feed from the project curated by @gideonmendel.
