Lycoris radiata. It, in Japan, is commonly called as Higanbana. It is literally autumn equinox flower, and called as so, since it is offered to the spirit of the deceased during the Buddhist holiday. The flower language: loss, longing, abandonment and lost memories -- It's believed that if you meet a person you'll never see again. Also there are few other eerie names: Shibitobana, the flower of the dead, because it blooms while visiting ancestors' graves and Yureibana, the glower of ghost, because the flower looks like so. Indeed, in my childhood this flower somehow haunted me.
