During our ascent of the South Howser we came across a climber who had fallen and broken his ankle. Although he was in stable condition and we offered to help with a human powered rescue he opted for a full on heli rescue from the side of the rock face. We called it in via our sat texter and watched from above as they long-lined him off the face. On some climbs there isn't this possibility and the added self reliance gives you an even greater adventure.
