South Africa was recently called the most financially unequal place on Earth in a report released by Oxfam.
Cape Town, South Africa: William, 26, from Democratic Republic of the Congo is a night guard of multiple houses in Fresnaye, an area of Cape Town where houses sell for up to R63,500,000.00 ($7,035,504.00). William has been in South Africa since 2007 and is working towards becoming a paramedic. He has to take time off from school to raise funds for this education. As a guard, he works twelve hour shifts, three times a week making a monthly income of R4000.00 ($443.00).
